Spring is just around the corner and I'm a big fan of a spring clean, a good cupboard sort out and a rearrange of some of my bits and bobs - living the crazy life I know :) - I also find it's nice to buy a little something to freshen things up a bit, however small ( I have this same theory about socks and how they are an instant fairly cheap wardrobe pick me up!). It might just be a fresh bunch of flowers or perhaps something more permanant.
I have always been a fan of buying treasured pieces that are made well and make me smile and although most of the time these are vintage, flea market / charity shop finds (I try not to buy too much new stuff just for the sake of it) my day job is concerned with making decorative patterns for products so obviously I also love to see how designers are interpreting trends and developing gorgeous products for future generations to love and cherish.
With that in mind here's a little round up of some of my favourite items hitting the shelves this Spring season - so many lovely things I must try and keep my purse under control!
Clockwise left to right...
1 - Laura Slater's Monolith Lampshade is printed in the most dreamy palette, I'm really loving these rich, warm, comforting tones right now and the addition of the brighter pops of pinks and purples are divine. I've been lucky enough to work alongside Laura for the last 5ish years as part of my lecturing role and she is an absolute gem. I always try to support local female businesses where I can and so including some of her new products to my wish list was a total none brainer.
2 - This rather fun cushion is one of the latest offerings from super talented Scottish textile design brand Bluebell Gray. Her fresh take on watercolour designs is always with keeping an eye on and I'm loving this new cushion with its added tassels - who doesn't love a tassel for a spot of instant fun?! Pick this one up over on the John Lewis website.
3 - How lovely is this jug from Ferm Living? For some reason I own far too many jugs, I'm not quite sure why I love them so much. Stoneware ceramics are always high on my list too - love the nuances in colour and texture the clay brings! :)
4 - Sustainable bamboo plant pots - what's not to love?
5 - It might be nearly spring but I still find the need for a blanket on the sofa on a cosy evening in and this one is a beauty! House of Rym is one of my fave stores for a bit of skandi style, I'd live to be snuggled under this right now.
6 and 7 - A less graphic take than normal for furnishing and wallpaper faves Scion but the textural drawing in their new fabric and wallpaper collections is gorgeous and I love it!
Hope you enjoyed a little peek at a few pieces I'm currently enjoying. Now where's my duster - Spring is coming!
